Atlantes in French, or Atlantians in English is the name given first by Herodotus, the father of history, to the folks living on the extreme west of north Africa, which correspond to Morocco, where I grew up at the Atlantic cost, at an intimate distance from the ocean.
Diodorus Siculus had left an extensive account and descriptions of the Atlantians in his Bibliotheca Historica, where he traces them back to legendary times of Herkules and Amazons. This series of paintings is taken from memory landscapes of the sky and the sea, Heaven and Ocean of the Atlantes between reality and mythology.
